Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds the proud distinction of being the second largest chamber in India with over 7000 members and several affiliated bodies. Established in the year 1924 at Madurai, this is a renowned chamber across India for its proactive role in serving the cause of trade and industry.
This chamber has been at the forefront of conceptualizing and making effective representation to various stakeholders for the growth of trade and services for the welfare of the people. TN Chamber has to be credited for getting several key infrastructural developments into the southern Tamil Nadu region which has an impact on a larger scale on the economic and social development indicators of this region.
For the past 99 years, TN Chamber has been holding its forte as a lighthouse spreading its care and compassion for the traders and trading community on a professional note to upscale their business. The numerous trade delegations to various countries inclusive of the USA, China, South Africa, and Vietnam along with the Memorandum of Understanding that the Chamber has signed today stand out as a testimony to its active and vibrant service.
The Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TN Chamber) was established in the year 1924 in Madurai and started with just 24 members with the primary objective of serving the cause of Trade and Industry. Currently, the membership strength of the TN Chamber has exceeded 5600 members with more than 200 smaller chambers and trade associations affiliated to it. By far, it is now the largest Chamber in India in membership strength. TN Chamber is currently headed by Shri. N. Jegatheesan as President.
Shri S. Rethinavelu has conceived an idea to form the Tamilnadu Chamber Foundation (TCF) as a Non-Profit Organization to provide non-trade & industry-related services and skill development programs through its various forums.

The Chamber Arbitration Tribunal (ChaAT) is an Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) forum aimed at settling commercial disputes and avoiding lengthy court proceedings. Inaugurated in 2007 by the Honorable Justice Ajit Prakash Shah, then Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, and Dr. Justice Ar. Lakshmanan, ChaAT provides an efficient and cost-effective process for resolving business disputes, helping to maintain smooth business operations.
A distinctive forum precisely for the development of young college graduates imparting essential training in soft skills and life management skills. Since its inception, about 25,000 students have so far been benefited from SHARP initiatives that holistically disseminate knowledge on the importance of upholding family traditions or cultural heritage. It has thus ignited young minds on high values and virtues that are required to bridge generational gaps prevalent in families and society at large.
With the fast-changing e-governance and e-commerce based economy, the common man has challenges to understand the knowledge of the internet, software tools, cloud-based applications, and mobile apps to connect to the digital economy. Digit-ALL forum was founded to overcome these challenges by providing knowledge and awareness of digital technology to the small and micro-business community, elderly citizens, youth, and homemakers through its workshops, hands-on training sessions by digital experts.
Export Promotion Centre is to encourage export development in South Tamilnadu and promote attention of small and large-scale exporters in this region through development of exporters. EPC imparts the most essential experience among exporters through knowledge-sharing on ways to start-up export companies. It helps exporters to choose specific products that can be exported to international markets. EPC was founded in 2010 and now has over 200 members who regularly attend the EPC meetings, seminars and international export trade delegations.
Save to be Saved (STBS) is yet another socially significant forum that was initiated to SAVE the four predominately and primary natural and scarce resources like, water, food, fuel & power and preserve them for future generations. STBS creates awareness in our society, especially among school students, about proper utilization and conservation of our fast perishing natural resources by conducting pertinent awareness programs on stopping wastage of these resources.
